Targeted advertising in Türkiye: attract suitable enquiries, not just clicks

Advertising can generate daily messages without making a meaningful contribution to sales. Some people ask for a price and disappear, others are outside your service area, and others expect a different product. Changing audience interests alone will not necessarily fix this. The offer, advertisement, landing page, qualification process and sales response all need attention. In Türkiye, language and local context add another layer.

SIMPLEIST treats targeted advertising as part of a connected customer acquisition process. We help brands explain their proposition, choose defensible hypotheses and assess progress through actions that matter to the business. This approach gives a launch a purpose beyond pressing a boost button.

Define a suitable enquiry

Before setting up a campaign, define the customer you want: location, need, purchase format, indicative budget and decision timing. A manufacturer may need a potential distributor; a local service may need someone from a particular neighbourhood. If the team uses different definitions of a good lead, advertising reports and sales feedback will keep contradicting each other.

Use understandable statuses: suitable, needs clarification, unsuitable, proposal sent and sale completed. Record why an enquiry does not progress. This helps distinguish poor targeting from an unsuitable price, an unclear description or a slow reply. A message count cannot reveal those differences by itself.

Segment by the customer’s situation

A local Turkish-speaking customer, an international entrepreneur and a Russian-speaking resident of Türkiye may want the same service for different reasons. They need different arguments, examples and explanations. Language is one characteristic of a segment, not a strategy. Start with what the person wants to achieve, their concerns and how they choose a provider.

Give each hypothesis a distinct proposition. New prospects may first need to understand the process, while people familiar with the brand may need a specific reason to enquire. Combining several products, locations and buying motives in one message makes it harder to understand what prompted the response.

Make the value clear in the creative

A useful advertisement quickly explains whom it is for and what value to expect. Replace generic quality promises with a recognisable situation, a clear description of the work and a next step. Use genuine materials: a product demonstration, part of the process or a specialist answering a frequent question. Testimonials and results should be substantiated.

Localisation goes beyond translation. Review the tone, examples, visual details and promises. An advertisement that sounds natural but leads to an unclear page in another language breaks the journey. So does a form requesting extensive information before explaining the offer. Creative and landing page should form one experience.

Design tests to answer a question

Changing everything continuously makes learning difficult. Choose a priority hypothesis: perhaps the audience does not understand the value, is uncertain about the process or cannot see a suitable format. Develop genuinely different messages and decide which actions will make comparison meaningful. Check available tools and permitted settings before launch.

Media spending, production, setup, management and landing page improvements are separate costs. A proposal should show those distinctions. For a new offer, agreeing the test scope and review conditions is more useful than promising a fixed acquisition cost before evidence exists. Evaluation must reflect the sales cycle and enquiry volume.

Connect reporting to sales

A report should lead to a decision: what changes after you review it? Compare spending with suitable enquiries, not just all forms. Track which advertisements bring relevant questions, what customers ask repeatedly and where potential buyers drop out. For longer sales cycles, follow movement from initial contact to meeting and proposal.

A suitable prospect can still leave if the response is late or ignores the question. Before launch, agree who handles enquiries, how they are passed on and what information is needed for the first reply. Advertising does not replace sales, but shared definitions make collaboration more useful.

Prepare a practical brief

Collect your product description, target locations, website or account link, previous results and the main issue to solve. Add common objections and anonymised enquiry examples. If you have not advertised before, explain who currently buys and which new segment you want to test. This creates a discussion about a business objective rather than reach in the abstract.

Allow time to interpret early tests. Which messages need explanation, which audiences have the right need, and what should change in the form or sales response? An agreed review rhythm helps improve the campaign without treating every disappointing day as a reason to abandon the strategy.
